Many Logan students earn honors, graduate from WKU

It really shouldn't be surprising that so many students from Logan County graduate from Western Kentucky University and earn academic honors on The Hill. After all, Logan is one of the leading sources of students for the college which touts its international reach.
A total of 670 Logan Countians were WKU students last year, 104 of them for the first time. Of that 104, 75 were from Logan County High School, 19 from Russellville High School and 10 from other schools, according to recently released statistics from the university.
Of the 670, 145 were high school students taking college courses and 63 were graduate students.
Four of the five counties with the largest number of students enrolled at WKU are the sites of campuses. Of course, Warren County-- Bowling Green-- is first with 4,056 students. Barren County (Glasgow) is third with 1,296, Daviess County (Owensboro) fourth with 873 and Hardin County (Elizabethtown) fifth at 864. The exception is Louisville (Jefferson County), which sent 1,309 students to WKU campuses.
Then Logan is the sixth leading supplier of WKU students among Kentucky's 120 counties with 670 students on The Hill. In comparison, Simpson County had 392, Allen County 387, Butler County 349, Hart County 278, Monroe 273, Edmonson County 271, Muhlenberg County 222, Metcalfe County 205, Christian County 166, and Todd County 63.
